This article aims to examine the impact of technological change on circular economy business models within organizations, based on an extensive review of the existing scientific literature. To achieve this objective, a systematic literature review was conducted, encompassing studies published between 2017 and 2025 and indexed in the Scopus database. The methodological process followed, among others, the guidelines established by the PRISMA protocol. The findings reveal an upward trend in academic output, with a predominance of research in the fields of Environmental Sciences (21.7%), Business and Management (18.3%), and Social Sciences (13.8%). The emergent thematic categories indicate that digitalization, eco-design, and traceability constitute critical drivers for enhancing the efficiency of production systems, although economic, institutional, and cultural barriers continue to hinder their widespread implementation. It is concluded that technological change operates as a fundamental enabler of the circular economy, provided that it is supported by flexible policy frameworks, sustained investment in innovation, and the strengthening of organizational capabilities. Overall, this study contributes a comprehensive and integrative understanding of the role of technology in advancing the transition toward sustainable and intelligent business models.
